Astrology
"The
precise moment of birth captures the planetary pattern of that moment,
which is never, ever, duplicated again. The astrological chart
showing that pattern is a picture of how the Divine soul is anchored in time and space."
Everything
in the visible and invisible world has meaning if we only have the
eyes to see and the ears to hear. Whether it is palmistry,
face-reading, body language, the geography of sacred sites on Earth, or
planetary patterns in the sky, it all has meaning. In most cases
this meaning is encoded, thus it takes the more observant souls to make
the connection, and then decode. Astrology is one way to
decode. It is the fine blend of
science, art, and craft.
-
Science is the left-brain basis of
astrology because planets always maintain a predictable pattern
throughout time and space.
-
Art is the right-brain decoding and
intuitive process of planetary meaning.
-
And the craft of the
astrologer--their skill, empathy, and spiritual development--put it all
together.
Most
people know something about their Sun sign, and they are probably more
familiar with the positive traits than the negative. There is no good sign and no
bad sign, and no person is completely typical of their Sun sign because
there are so many other factors. It is important to be positive
about life and ourselves, but it is equally important to be real and
look at the whole picture without blindfold or rose-colored
glasses. If we are not being real with ourselves, we cannot
possible fix the dark corners of our psyche. Most people know they
have issues, but if asked to elaborate, they are often vague or will
miss a lot of them. Those issues are the very things which cause us problems
and stunt spiritual growth. They cause us to go round and round
the wheel of karma like a hamster in its cage. To have tunnel-vision
about oneself is not spiritual
growth; it is denial. Statements such as "That's just who I
am; deal with it!" are the things that keep souls here
forever. So in the interest of cultivating 'awareness' and thus developing spiritual
growth, the next few pages will describe Sun signs from all angles.

The
astrologer soon
learns that there is a lot to absorb if they want to understand the
science of the stars. And if they choose to begin with astrology and
also integrate spiritual principles, they truly have their work cut out for them. Sun
signs, Moon signs, rising signs, aspects, planets, houses, stelliums,
elements, quadrants, declinations, synastry, progressions, solar arcs,
solar returns, lunar returns, asteroids, planetoids.... and the
synthesis of it all to create a picture of one person. The destiny
of one person. The blueprint for their life. Their talents
and their weaknesses. Their potential for good or bad. Their
desires and aspirations. Their worldly ways or their spiritual
progress.
The
human potential is endless. The myriad of personalities is
limitless. There are no two people born with the exact same birth
chart and the same genetic makeup combined with the same environmental
and familial patterns. Even twins who are born a few minutes apart
with similar chart patterns, have two different souls; two different
lives with different goals and different needs. There are no two souls the same.
The soul is not the body. The body is the vehicle to allow the
soul to experience physicality through the five senses.
This
is the study of spiritual astrology.
