Concepts of Evolution

“Do not confuse the ignorant with wisdom.”

The purpose of stilling the mind through mantra meditation is to clear the vessel of debris.  This debris can take the form of emotional attitudes that are inappropriate, mental states that are out of balance, memories of past lives that are still haunting, and karmic residue from past lives.  It is all baggage.  And there is an enormous quantity in every living soul who has not yet stepped upon a path of knowledge and enlightenment.

A Sanskrit mantra of the right vibration will clear all these things, in time.  With twice-daily practice it can be done in 12 years, if the practitioner also leads a clean life.  The vast majority of non-meditating people generate more karma than they remove in a given lifetime, so the possibility of being released from the wheel of reincarnation is slim, at best.

Through mantra meditation, the seeds of karma are roasted, thus they cannot bear fruit.  In addition, the channel to the Higher Self (soul) is cleared, so that one becomes aware of the nature of their soul.  * Note:  The terms ‘aware’ and ‘awareness’ do not have the same meaning as they do for mundane life.  These terms refer to cosmic awareness; that awareness that is beyond the physical mind and which connects to other dimensions.

Some signs of this cosmic awareness, or cosmic consciousness (CC) are:

  • Inability to sustain anger
  • Witnessing: constant awareness of the transcendent aspect of life
  • Freedom from desires
  • Spontaneous right action
  • Freedom from karma

To elaborate a bit, anger can be experienced, but its duration is so short that it is like writing on the wind: it is gone as soon as it appears.  In lesser states of consciousness, anger may simmer for hours, days, weeks, or indefinitely, thus building up and causing harm to others and self.

‘Witnessing’ is experienced as detachment from worldly ways.  This person is aware that they are asleep and dreaming during the night, and in daytime they watch their own thoughts and actions as an objective observer.  This is a very distinct state and not something that can be achieved through a book or a lecture.  Witnessing is like living inside a bubble of protection but it also tends to make the person feel isolated.

Freedom from desires means just that.  This person has burned the seeds of karma and in so doing, has no particular desires, or the need to keep coming back, since they go together.

Spontaneous right action refers to being at one with the laws of the universe, having cleared away debris.  When one is established in ‘Being’ one is like they are perched on a mountaintop and can see everything.  From this vantage point it is easy to make the right decisions.

Freedom from karma means what it says.  This refers only to earthly karma and not that of higher dimensions.

This diagram shows the relationship between the physical form incarnation and the soul, or Higher Self.  In a person in CC they have access to soul information because they have cleared the connecting channel.  They are ‘connected’ and anyone who is connected will absolutely have a powerful desire to be united with God.  This person has made this quest their life’s purpose.  There is no activity or pastime or song or person that will have enough persuasive energy to detract this person.  That is because they have literally ‘seen the Light’.

“Before enlightenment: chop wood and haul water; after enlightenment: chop wood and haul water.”

That statement refers to the visible outer life, while inside the enlightened one, they are free.  A person who has attained this state of CC looks the same as everyone else.  They hold down jobs, have mortgages, raise children, and all the rest.  But they are detached from worldly interests because they have soul-connection.  Once one has that connection they have direct access to self-nurturing, healing, guidance, soul-strength, vision, creative intelligence, and knowledge of their soul purpose.

The people in this group represent less than 1% of 1% of the earth’s population.   This person, though resembling any other person, is detached from worldly ways.  This person is uninterested in socializing for the sake of keeping busy, yet they care about those in their lives.  They hold jobs to provide for their families, but do not seek status and power for they are worldly things.  This person has tremendous creativity because when there is soul-connection, there is a huge reservoir of soul memories, soul talents, and soul skills to be drawn upon.  This person has an intuitive awareness of things beyond the mundane world.  Their information is not ‘channeled’ from the spirit world; rather it is simply having a direct line to their Higher Self.

This level of consciousness is the first level of enlightenment.  This level, in its pure form, has no bells and whistles.  It is simply a state of ‘being’.  The great designer of the geodesic dome, Buckminster Fuller, achieved this state of consciousness.  He had the brilliance and creativity associated with this level.  But he was always misunderstood and underrated, as is characteristic of these people, because they do not fit the mold.

Some Pitfalls

To achieve this basic level of enlightenment requires a tremendous level of commitment and many life changes.  Twice-daily mantra meditation is considered to be the only way to get there in one lifetime.  The natural process of evolution—as in that of Neanderthal man to present day human beings—takes many thousands of lifetimes to achieve this goal.  So it makes sense—for those few souls who are ready—to plant their feet on a spiritual path with a fast-acting technique.  When one is serious, why take a bicycle when you can take a jet?  To be on the fence regarding commitment level, by doing meditation but hanging out with rock bands (low frequency music) brings little or no forward motion.  It is marking time, at best.

Meditation itself is usually not enough, though.  For the person who is absolutely committed to achieving liberation from the wheel of karma in one lifetime, they need to pay close attention to all their habits (habits have a way of becoming unconscious and the unconscious mind is the part that sabotages the path).  This person will also find that some people drop out of their lives once they are firmly on a path and this is because of the difference if vibrational frequency.  Those people who stick around and are comfortable with the meditator will probably have a similar frequency.  Like attracts like.”

Habits:  The technique of meditation will eventually bring up awareness of bad habits, but one must then use that awareness to get rid of them.  Smoking, drinking, and pot smoking are obvious bad habits.  But what about anger issues, reactive responses, the shop-a-holic, the victim, greed, etc.  What you wear, think, say, do, eat and drink, all matter.   Who you associate with matters.  Why you associate with them matters.  People who have never committed to a spiritual path (church doesn’t count) have a lower frequency than a consciously-evolving soul.  They will pull you back to their level unless you have enough awareness to see what is happening to you, and then distance yourself.  The loneliness of the seeker.”  A true spiritual adept is a solitary soul in many ways.  They do not fit in, do not want to fit in (because it means stepping down in frequency), and can find very few individuals at their level.  It is a test.  Will the seeker settle for the company of those considerably less evolved in order to have fun, fit in, keep busy, or be in love?  A compromise is often the answer for most people because few will stick to their ideals under such stringent testing.

What you watch on TV, and why matters.  Scary, violent, rough programs are harmful.  Contact sport programs like wrestling, boxing, hockey, and football carry a low vibration.  Tennis, golf, and swimming are generally much better to watch.  {It is extremely important to be honest with oneself; to do otherwise only defeats one’s own spiritual work.}

The fabrics you wear can enhance your frequency or damage it.  Organic fibers are best.  Organic sheets are best.  Anything in direct contact with your physical body should be of a natural, organic fiber because that frequency is higher than chemically sprayed and harsh-dyed products.

Vibrational Frequency is everything when it comes to maintaining your hard-earned level of consciousness.  This includes the frequency of your friends and family, your clothing and bedding, your pets (all pets have a lower vibration rate than humans; one is ok, many is not good.)  All clothing and bedding more than 2 years old will have your old frequency and it should be replaced by new things.  This applies only to those on a committed spiritual path.  Ordinary folks don’t change that much to make it a priority.

Noise is a serious impediment to spiritual equanimity because sound frequency affects us as much as physical frequency.  “Silence is golden.”  This holds true for all types of noise, including home appliances, power tools, power mowers, barking dogs, yelling children, aircraft landing, horns honking, etc.  Constant noise, as in living near a landing strip, can severely injure one’s inner peace and even contribute towards perpetual anxiety.

Electrical outlets, TV radiation, furnace magnetic energy, fluorescent lights, and air conditioning all have a deleterious effect on one’s frequency.  It is important to sleep away from multiple plug outlets.  Air conditioning removes the negative ions from the air (negative ions are the good ones), leaving one with depleted air that has no life force (prana) to feed and nurture the flowing kundalini.

Trees, plants, streams, oceans, rivers, and mountains all enhance one’s frequency.  There are exceptions, such as in places that have historically been used for evil deeds or are maliciously haunted.

Feng Shui placement can greatly assist the flow of chi in your home or office.  Dead air space is an undesirable quality because it is old, stagnant energy and therefore of a lower frequency.
