The Healing Crisis

Everything in life has cycles:  radio and TV frequencies, human biorhythms, the internal combustion engine, the stock market, etc.  The human cycle of wellness to disease and back to wellness also has a particular cycle.  Most people start life in a state of perfect health.  But when stress is not dealt with promptly, or cannot be due to circumstances, dis-ease sets in.  The human energy field is a perfect environment if it is not interfered with, yet interference starts the moment of birth!  The first stresses come in the form of electromagnetic interference from electrical appliances, cars, microwaves, sonar, etc.  They cannot be avoided *(see below) and they take a terrible toll on the human energy field.  They weaken the immune system, allowing for viruses and bacteria to take hold.  They sap the body's energy and natural protection.  Allergies, joint pains, rheumatism, arthritis, organ failure, headaches, sinus problems, asthma, and other ailments can arise when the body is unable to defend itself from these unseen attackers.

We also encounter emotional problems in relationships with parents, children, siblings, lovers, husbands, and wives.  In some cases emotional and physical abuse are present, and those stresses go very deep.  The physical demands of coping with university and work schedules take another toll.  Many people use coffee and medication as a means of coping and push ahead even when the body needs rest.  The result is that the body cannot release the stress that has been dumped on it and instead holds onto it in the form of physical and emotional problems.

Everyone on the planet has sustained stress from these life circumstances.  Yet most people do not realize that the reason they feel the way they do is a direct result of what they have been through--but not yet dealt with or released.  It is easier to ignore the stresses of life than it is to face them, deal with them, and release them.  But the price of ignoring them is high!

Drugs and surgery may bring temporary relief to the physical, but do not deal with the root cause--unresolved issues.  This is why many diseases recur.  To rid oneself of the mental/physical/emotional pain resulting from accumulated stress can be done but it requires a release of the original cause.  True healing is about removing the problem ,therefore what has gone in must come out.  This process is sometimes called a 'healing crisis' or a detoxification process.

A healing crisis results when all bodily systems work together to eliminate waste products and set the stage for regeneration.  Old tissues are replaced with new.  (A disease crisis, on the other hand, is not a natural one and works against the body's natural processes.)  Symptoms during a healing crisis may be identical to the disease, but there is an important difference--elimination.  A cleansing, purifying process is underway and stored wastes are in a free-flowing state.  Sometimes pain during the healing crisis is of similar intensity to when the chronic disease was building up.  This may explain why there may be a brief flare-up in one's condition.

The healing crisis will usually bring about past conditions in whatever order the body is capable of handling them at the time.  People often forget the disease or injuries they have had in the past, but are usually reminded during a healing crisis.  Reactions could include skin eruptions, nausea, headache, sleepiness, unusual fatigue, diarrhea, head or chest cold, ear infections, boils, or any other way the body uses to loosen and eliminate toxins.  The healing crisis can last from a few hours to several days, but if the energy of the person is low it may last for a week or more.  During this time the body needs juices, and especially water, to help carry off the toxins.  This is also a time for mental and physical rest.

One healing crisis is not always enough for a complete cure.  The person in a chronic state, who has gone through many diseases or emotional traumas in life, must go through these processes in reverse, but in a milder form.  Often the crisis will come after one feels their very best, setting the stage for the action.  Most people feel an energy boost the first few days.  Then toxins are dumped into the blood stream for elimination.  Go as slowly as your body needs to so that your elimination is gradual and comfortable.  With a more serious condition there may be many small crises to go through before the final one is possible.  Everything must be considered and given it's proper place in the build-up to a healing crisis.  One should expect and work towards it.

What induces a healing crisis?  It takes energy to heal the mind, body, and emotions, and lots of it.  If we are depleted due to disease or emotional trauma we do not usually have the necessary energy to do the releasing.  This is where natural healing comes in.  Most people who work with Reiki and other alternative healing have developed the ability to channel a lot of energy to whomever may need it.  If someone is in need of healing it can be an enormous help to turn to a natural healers.  It may take only one session to heal a minor problem, or it may take many sessions for deeper, long-standing problems.

When seeking true resolution of a health problem it is vital that one understands the nature of a 'healing crisis'.  What has gone in must come out for there to be true wellness.
