About me

I am Gail, founder and designer of this
site, my
teaching, and self-help site. Whenever I
surf or shop, I read everyone's web bio, because that
is where I can begin to know and trust the individual, or not. So
I am adding a little information about myself.
I was the
eldest of three, born in Chicago, to upper middle class parents, who
were good, honest, and kind. Perhaps I was an Indigo Child; but certainly today I fit
the profile of Indigo
Adult. I was not much like my parents or siblings then or
now. I was always more interested in things of the spirit, but it
took many years before I understood that, and found the right path.
At a very early age I became a member of Mensa, a
club for folks with an IQ over 140, but I let it lapse a long time
ago. Though I thought I would enjoy the company of like-minded
individuals, I was soon disappointed. There was something about being in an
elitist group that only catered
to one element of society, seemingly ignoring qualities of the spirit, of
creativity, kindness, and humanity, that was not for me.
My first important spiritual breakthrough came from an
unusual source. When I was a young wife and mother, I took up
flying. That was in the '70s. En route to getting my license I met many pilots, and
observed that their actual higher perspective of Earth also seemed to
change their view of life. These people held my interest as no group had thus far, and it
was the beginning of my change.
Subsequently, while taking classes in judo and
karate, I gravitated towards books on Zen, meditation, and
anything spiritual. That led to learning advanced mantra
meditation, a ritual that eventually expanded to 6 hours of my day.
Every minute was worthwhile though, for when one's mind can be calmed and focused
on a regular basis, it becomes stronger, clearer, and wiser. A metamorphosis occurs;
spiritual knowledge and attainment become most important.
My husband, children, and I lived in a meditation village—or
ashram environment—for many years. We had spiritual
quality-of-life and inner direction.
During those years I traveled to India, Europe, and throughout
North America to attend advanced meditation courses. I spent
months in holy environments where I meditated for sometimes 12 hours
each day. I had audiences with holy men and women. Kundalini awakened
fast, and though it is a blessing in the long run, it is intense, and
sometimes a
challenge to live with! Third-eye headaches, seeing auras, knowing
other peoples’ thoughts (without wanting to, thank you!), trying to sleep when
the whole body was vibrating from spiritual energy, and having
inexplicable mystical experiences on a daily basis, were just some of
the perks and problems.
An individual changes--permanently--when
there is so much kundalini activity. They become more focused on
God, more compassionate and understanding, and more oriented towards helping
others. So, in following that inner guidance, I learned many
holistic healing methods and counseling tools. I became
passionately interested in astrology in the late '70's because I
discovered that the planetary arrangement of an individual's birth chart
shows their soul matrix. When one can see one's own strengths and
weaknesses in living color, it helps greatly to grow. It
also helps to better know our friends and family and be more forgiving
and understanding.
In the 80s I studied holistic nutrition, Ayurveda,
Homeopathy, Herbalism, Essential Oils, Bach Flower Remedies, California
Flower Essences, Jin Shin Do, body
language, face reading, iridology, psychic protection, shamanism, palmistry,
handwriting analysis, pranic healing, crystal healing, yoga, Tibetan
thought, Christian thought, Hindu thought, Native American teachings,
and Reiki. I became an ordained minister, a Reiki Master, a
shamanic
healer/teacher, a paranormal educator, and a
professional astrologer. I taught hundreds
of students, for years and years in both the USA and Canada, in person
and online.
Back in my 20s I took classes in fine arts, and
did oil painting, charcoal sketching, and some work in acrylics. In the
last 10 years I've turned my creative interests toward digital
graphics, with an emphasis on creating pictures that look as much like
an oil painting as possible. I make my own graphics and have done
professional web design. I prefer simple, clean lines for my
professional site (this one), but I like to spice it up
with color, texture, and new styles, for my stories and quotes
site (www.Victoryanah.com). I use Photoshop CS3,
Paint Shop Pro Ultimate, Bryce
5.5, Poser 7, Terragen, Vue 6 Esprit Pro Studio,
Painter X, and some of the Kai's programs. I learned to code in HTML
many years
ago but these days I prefer the less-demanding approach of Front Page
2003 to make my websites. I create my graphics and webs on a fast Vista Dell with a
22" widescreen. I also have a couple of widescreen laptops for backup
and
portability. I have an affinity for technology, so you could say I'm a computer geek.
My taste in music is eclectic. I like
most classical, jazz, bluegrass, alternative, reggae, and 50s and 60s
pop. I do not care for heavy metal or rap. In art, I favor
the old masters, and in particular I am fond of Monet and his use of
color and light. I am not a fan of most modern art unless the
colors and energy are particularly pleasing. My
attraction to things like art and music is based on their feeling and the
energy they carry to the observer. Since my own energy is in a
frequency of relative peace, I need a similar, or better, energy for it
to be compatible with mine.
I am committed to a Green planet, and
support everything that is environmentally friendly. I enjoy
travel, gardening, pets, being in Nature, solitude, good friends,
silence, and laughter. I am now retired from teaching and healing,
but I use my website to offer my articles to others who may be
interested in such things. My Sagittarian Sun is on the Galactic
Center, which means I channel a lot of cosmic energy. I feel tremendous gratitude for my
life; for the opportunity to be here in body and to learn and grow on
this beautiful planet.
These days my life is that of a monk--I am a recluse, choosing to
live away from the masses, in relative peace and quiet. But I have numerous
interests and hobbies, so life is full. I love to crochet, and I continue to make things in my spare
time. I taught classes in the use of crystals and gemstones, and
now I create gemstone necklaces, to access the energy of each type of stone, rather than for
aesthetic reasons. I am devoting substantial time to creating
my digital artwork and selling it online. Perhaps most
importantly, I am writing my memoirs. In some ways my life has
been ordinary and in others it has been extraordinary, so it is time to
put it in writing.
After 33 years of intensive spiritual
discipline and training, I have accomplished more than I thought possible. And my
journey continues on the road less traveled.
Blessings,
Gail
